Weekly Update 9/24/17

Good morning everyone!

For those of you new to Weekly Updates, welcome! This is where the most important information can be found for Chorus, Chorale, and Spotlight. It’s very important you read the parts of this email that pertain to your child’s performing group, as they may not be involved in everything.

I look forward to meeting the 7th/8th grade parents at Back to School Night this Wednesday. If your child is in 7th or 8th grade and have me on a “B” day, you can still stop by just to say “hello!” or to grab some handouts. All the handouts given out at Back to School Night can be found on the “Print at Home” section on my website.

Reminder: If students lose their music or workbooks, they can print them out from my website under “Print at Home” or “Chorus” links. I will be doing folder checks this week, so if your child does not have a particular piece listed under the “Chorus Tab” and “Current Repertoire”, they must print it out again before coming to class. I have given every child one copy, but it is their responsibility to make sure they are prepared for class.

Past Due: Signed “Chorus Handbook” forms (page 15) were due on Friday, September 15th. If you have misplaced or lost the handbook, you can print it out from the homepage on my website: www.roslynmschorus.org.

The website: Please try to find answers to frequently asked questions on my website. I have sections for NYSSMA, All-County, Spotlight, Chorale, Chorus, as well as calendars, sign-ups, printables, and more. This is a key resource for you this year.

ALL-COUNTY: Any student who participated in vocal NYSSMA last year AND is in chorus (unfortunately Chorale does not count, as stated last year) is eligible for All-County. I gave students their forms last week. If students did NOT receive a form for one reason or another, and would like to be nominated for All-County, tell them to come to me tomorrow and I will give them a form.

The following are updates for Chorus, Chorale, and Spotlight. For those of you new to Weekly Updates, you can find previous newsletters on my website: www.roslynmschorus.org. If you would like to unsubscribe to these emails, please respond to this email with: “UNSUBSCRIBE”. You are automatically subscribed if you send an email regarding Chorus, Chorale, or Spotlight.

Warmest Regards,
Cyndi Feinman

**SPOTLIGHT….THE TIME IS NOW!! THE TIME IS HERE!!! AUDITIONS ARE THIS WEEK!! Break a leg everybody!!!

1. This week Spotlight auditions have been moved from a starting time of 2:15 to 2:48 so it is after extra-help. Because of this change, Wednesday’s auditions are going to be very short.
